The Virgin Birth

Every Christmas, we see nativity scenes showing baby Jesus with Mary and Joseph. "Why does it matter how Jesus was born?" The virgin birth shows:

• Jesus is truly God's Son
• God can do the impossible
• Our salvation is God's work, not ours
• Jesus was free from sin from conception

"Do Catholics worship Mary?" No, we worship God alone. We honor Mary because:

• God chose her for this unique role
• She said yes to God's plan
• She's the Mother of our Savior
• She models perfect discipleship
